When I was in 5th grade, my friend’s mom made me a pillow spray to help me sleep. Fast forward 10+ years and I finally made one again.

It smelled exactly like the one she made me all those years ago, and the scent of it unlocked that long lost memory for me.

I like to spray this on my pillow before bed and fall asleep to the calming scents. It also works as a great room spray.

What you need:

  • 20 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops Chamomile essential oil
  • 10 drops Frankincense essential oil
  • Optional: 5 drops Northern Lights Black Spruce essential oil
  • 1 oz unscented witch hazel
  • 4 oz glass spray bottle

Directions:

  1. Add the specified number of drops of each essential oil to the bottle.
  2. Add witch hazel and fill the remaining bottle with water. Leave a little bit of space at the top so you can mix it all together (step 3).
  3. Screw on the spray nozzle top and shake thoroughly to mix.
  4. Spritz on pillows and bedding before sleep. Can also be used as a room spray.

Disclaimer:

I have bought and used essential oils from the grocery store, Doterra, and Young Living. The Doterra and store bought oils have never lasted long or worked very well. For that reason, I only use Young Living essential oils and I can only speak to the efficacy and safety of this recipe using Young Living essential oils. If you use a different brand of essential oil and don’t find it works, they may not be quality oils and I would recommend trying a higher quality oil instead.
