Guided Meditations for Anxiety

7 Guided Meditations for Anxiety I Keep Coming Back To

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” – Anonymous

Meditation is one of the purest forms of self-care.

We spend so much of our lives trapped in our own heads. The words we think and the stories we tell ourselves matter.

Learning how to stop chasing every little thought, especially if you suffer from anxiety, is so so important in finding true peace in life.

Some days it’s easy. Most days it’s not, especially if you’re still new to meditation.

Meditation isn’t about being perfect. The important thing is to keep showing up. Even when it’s hard. Even when your mind won’t stop racing.

Because one day, a switch will flip and you’ll realize all the hard, messy work has paid off.

You’ll start to feel lighter.

You’ll learn to stop chasing every thought that pops into your head.

You’ll realize the reason you keep reliving your past is because you’re still living it in every single thing you do.

And you’ll finally have the ability to pull yourself out of it and start living in the present.

Guided meditations are comforting words that speak directly to your soul. Are you ready to listen?

7 Guided Meditations to Listen to On Repeat

After devoting over 180 days straight to meditating, I have listened to a guided meditation or two and have found meditations that truly speak to me.

I have been using the Insight Timer app, which has thousands of free guided meditations to choose from. There is also a subscription for $60/year that provides access to even more guided meditations and the ability to download meditations for use offline (super handy when camping with no internet).

**I do not make any money by referring you to Insight Timer, whether you use the free or paid version. I genuinely just love this app and want to share it with the world.**

I have used both the free and paid version. I absolutely hate subscriptions but I find the price of this particular subscription worth it since I use it every single day. I want to be able to listen to any meditation that sounds good to me in the moment and not be restricted to just the free ones.

And by that, I mostly mean I want to listen to ALL of Sarah Blondin’s meditations 😂 iykyk.

All of these meditations shared here can be found on the Insight Timer app. I made sure to note which ones are free and which ones require the paid subscription. I was pleasantly surprised to see the majority are free, making them easily accessible to anyone.

Now in no particular order, these are my favorite healing guided meditations for anxiety I keep coming back to.

Sarah Blondin // Coming Home to Yourself Day 4

Time: 12 minutes > Insight Timer Plus (subscription)

Sarah Blondin is my favorite meditation teacher (as you will soon find out :)).

You know how sometimes you just hear something and instantly know it was meant to find you at that exact moment in time? That was this guided meditation for me. It’s like she was speaking directly to me.

So much so, I took a quote from this meditation and made it my phone background so I could be reminded of it every single day. You’ll know it when you hear it for yourself.

I will not give any spoilers, because you need to hear it in its entirety on your own.

But just know, if you’re constantly reliving the past, this was made for you, my dear friend.

Coming Home to Yourself Day 4

Sarah Blondin // Unwind into Surrender: 10-Minute Release & Relinquish

Time: 8 minutes > FREE

“Life is unfolding just as it should.”

If you’re plagued by worry and anxious thoughts, this one’s for you.

Stop thinking. Stop searching. Stop worrying.

Even if just for a minute, surrender.

Dr. Antonio Mariano Harrison // Sleep & Recovery

Time: 9 minutes > FREE

“Let the voice in this meditation guide you to dreamland.”

And guide me to dreamland that voice sure does.

There are a lot of meditations with voices and speaking patterns that are extremely grating and make me feel more anxious listening to them.

Dr. Antonio’s voice is the polar opposite.

The tone and frequency of his voice are the perfect combination to guide you towards sleep. This is one of my favorite guided meditations for sleep that I often circle back to.

Tramaine Cato // 4-7-8 Breathing Technique (with Music)

Time: 4 minutes > FREE

Similar to Dr. Antonio, I find Tramaine’s voice very soothing.

This particular guided meditation focuses on the 4-7-8 breathing technique to slow the heartbeat and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, making it one of my favorite guided meditations for anxiety.

It’s a great little meditation to pop on when you’re overwhelmed, anxious, and/or having trouble concentrating.

Sarah Blondin // Sleep. Rest. Reset.

Time: 15 minutes > FREE

By now, you’re probably noticing a theme here. I love Sarah Blondin.

This is hands down my favorite guided meditation for sleep. Sarah’s voice is extra calming in this meditation.

You know that prickly sensation you sometimes get on your scalp when falling asleep? Uh huh, this gives it to me every time I listen to it.

The first half of the meditation is a body scan. Bringing attention and intention to every part of your body.

Then about halfway through, she walks you through an exercise to visualize the different corners in your room, bouncing back and forth between them, and it just lulls you right to sleep.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve drifted off to sleep with this one.

Highly, highly recommend.

Sleep. Rest. Reset.

Sarah Blondin // Alchemy of The Heart: Harmonize Your Inner Landscape

Time: 10 minutes > FREE

If you’ve been feeling heavy emotions lately, this one’s for you. 💛

It doesn’t matter how many times I listen to this guided meditation; it always tugs at my heart strings. Makes me feel seen. Heard. Understood.

Having a lot of childhood trauma, this meditation finally helped me grasp what an inner child truly is and helped me connect with my own. That I was once a scared little kid, and I no longer have to be her.

Ram Dass // Just Be

Time: 8 minutes > Insight Timer Plus (subscription)

“There’s nowhere to go; there’s nothing to accomplish, there’s no merit. It’s just this, just this.” – Ram Dass

To put it simply: Just be.

In this very moment, you have nowhere to go. Nowhere to be. Nothing to do except just be. Right where you are.

It can be extremely challenging to “just be,” to stop thinking about your miles-long to-do list, that conversation you’ve been replaying in your head a million different ways, a painful memory from your past you keep reliving.

This guided meditation is great practice at letting go of your thoughts and being where your feet are.

Just Be.

Take Care of Yourself, My Friend

Meditation has helped me become more connected with myself over these past 6 months, and boy, does it feel good.

I have neglected taking care of myself and making myself a priority my entire life. I have always put everyone else first, leaving nothing for myself in return.

Meditation has shown me how important it is to truly take care of oneself first.

All you need is yourself, a few minutes alone, and these comforting meditations to soothe your anxiety and doubt and fear, so you may find peace on the other side. 💛
